Believe in Art

I was on facebook today and another artist posted this photo. It meant alot to me. Belief in any religion is a tough one.... I believe in music, in the power of love, and especially in art.

When all else fails, painting brings me back to a place of inner peace. Being an artist is who I am. I believe in art, it literally has saved my life. I'm painting with my friend and student, Angie later today, working on three new wood panel pieces that I sketched on Thanksgiving last month. It was a quiet one here in Asheville this year, just me and Paul in our mountain home. It was nice to draw on that Holiday morning, a quiet reflection of what I am most thankful for - my art.
