Mixed Media Collage Workshops

Mixed Media Workshop, 310 Art Gallery, River Arts District

Saturday, May 15th 2010 Held at The River's Edge Studios, Asheville NC

Tuition: $90, which includes all supplies!! Materials provided will include a 11" x 14" canvas, gel mediums, brushes, acrylic paint, fine papers, tissue paper, colored pencils, sheet music, buttons, stamps, poetry/books, colored glitters, emphera and many found objects. Please also bring personal photocopies of photographs, decorative napkins, or any other items you wish to collage with.

Since the canvas is included with this course, you are guarenteed to bring home a piece of art! This mixed media collage class is perfect for beginners jumping in and also ideal for established artists needing new ideas. Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experiences will provide workshop participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to create beautiful collages reflecting their personal voice. We encourage individuals to draw from their own experiences, color sense and need for expression. Discover how easy it is to create a landscape using only tissue paper! There will be many collage and mixed media art books for reference, and we will talk about the history of collage and interject lessons on: composition, light, color, shape, texture and narrative.
